Noble Jacks Offer Uplifting Rock Elixir with ‘Stay Awake’ Album Launch Tour – Spring 2019

folk, Rock

Already hailed as local heroes around their base in Sussex, the surge in notoriety that Noble Jacks have felt is in no small part due to their famously incendiary live shows. For their second album release – ‘Stay Awake‘ (released 29th March), they have laid out ten resolutely upbeat tracks to take on tour this Spring which incorporate all that’s magnificent about British rock (along with with a side salad of riffing lead fiddle for good measure).

While recent success has seen celebrated live performances on the biggest stages such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival and Cambridge Folk Festival over the last two years, Noble Jacks learned their trade through playing hundreds of pubs, parties, hay barns and cows sheds. They have already garnered a reputation as one of the country’s “good time” bands, with rousing, sing-along choruses and songs which guarantee escape from the drudge of everyday life and an excuse to be unapologetically euphoric.

Describing themselves as a ‘fiddle-fronted rock band’, Will Page’s upbringing in traditional folk has meant that they have been able to translate all the excitement of an Irish reel to those who would not naturally relate. Through this, they’ve found a combination of all that’s alluring in the trad/folk genre, blended with the catchy hooks of stadium rock bands and thus creating their own unique sound and a thoroughly captivating live experience.

Noble Jacks are first and foremost a rock band, but the roots in the traditions of their locality spread throughout their work – from the fiddle used like a lead guitar on four tracks, to those which pay tribute to local blacksmiths and farriers. Their songs are generally crafted as contemporary folk songs with the addition of big chorus top lines and electric instruments while still resonating with ‘the old world’ – where folk, roots and Americana originated. The “folk” Noble Jacks bring to their music is not so much a musical style as the gathering together of people – it is universal music at a time of division and mistrust.
