Mishkin Fitzgerald to release “Seraphim” EP

Mishkin Fitzgerald is the Brighton-based singer and pianist best known for her work in alt-classical punk outfit Birdeatsbaby. Born in London to a church minister and Mathematician, the young singer was influenced first by church hymns and classical music, then later by alternative artists such as Nick Cave, Kate Bush and Patti Smith. With a keen interest in poetry, (and all things a bit gothic) she has created a sound that is distinctive, fragile and unapologetic.

The Seraphim” 5 track EP is a CD-only-release taster of the full feature length album coming in May 2017, which will be 13 tracks. It has currently been fully released via Mishkin’s band’s crowd-funding Patreon page, which currently raises $800 per “thing” and is steadily climbing.

Mishkin hosts a regular showcase night called “Indie Noir” that features predominantly female artists from the dark side of the music scene. The events have been very successful in generating interest in new and upcoming bands, and have been launched in London, Brighton, Oxford and York.

Having just returned from a tour with dark-folk duo She Owl, she now embarks on a UK tour, with a launch party at Veg Bar (Brixton Vegan Café) this July 8th.
