In a search to find the answers to humanity, internationally renowned underwater artist Christy Lee Rogers has collaborated with fellow artist and rocker, Ryan Murphy, to form the alternative rock-pop duo, Bayonesse.
The pair write beautifully melodic music with a powerful, dark rock edge. Whilst both Rogers and Murphy are artists at heart, they chose to shift their focus to music after realising it is a much more effective medium for expressing emotion and complex thoughts.
The alternative single, ‘Angel Touching Down’, which is taken from their upcoming album, Bleeding Heart, will be released alongside a dark and mysterious underwater music video that simply reinforces the power and feeling behind the music.
Rogers’ obsession with water as a medium for breaking the conventions of contemporary photography has led to her work being compared to Baroque painting masters such as Caravaggio. She applies clever techniques to shoot bodies submerged in water during the night, creating natural effects using the refraction of light. Consequently, Christy’s work has been featured in the likes of Vogue, The Independent and Global Times.
